Overview
As one of the top models in the range, the Venturer represents the culmination of over 20 years experience in the art of turntable design. It employs many tried and tested techniques along with innovative new ideas. Special features include:
- Revolutionary super low friction bearing with a single contact point eliminating side friction. In addition, a special low friction, diamond hard coating, is applied to the bearing surfaces. This eliminates wear, for lifetime longevity.
- A 3 spoked metallic disc attached to the underside of the platter creates an eye catching feature as it rotates. The disc not only enhances the sublime form of the design but achieves it’s real purpose of giving a low centre of gravity for the inverted spindle bearing.
- Innovative energy dissipating platter and plinth design.
- Absolute speed accuracy with incremental control DC motor. Direct drive from motor to platter for increased dynamics and power.
- Adjustable tonearm mounting for arms between 9” and 12”.
- Sophisticated energy management using selected interface materials. Special damping composites are also employed to eliminate ‘ringing resonances’ that so often colour sound reproduction, along with masking nuances and detail in your music.
Available in optional “S” version, where superior materials are specified. Exceptionally costly machining is necessitated and electronics specify nothing but the best. For example the transformer is upgraded to a very special C- core type with high grade laminations.
This deck brings vinyl reproduction the ultimate performance and style it deserves.
Please note there is a 3 month wait for the Venturer turntable.

- The Bearing incorporates expensive carbon (not the pencil type of carbon) low friction bearings.
- The Shaft is a substantial 20mm hard steel coated with a special near diamond hard low friction coating.
- The high stability bearing is designed to minimize side load friction. This is unusual because it focuses on minimizing the area of highest friction in a bearing. Some companies have focussed on magnetic or air bearings to 'float' the platter. Although this helps matters it actually fails to address the area of greatest friction and contact with sources of vibration which arrive through the sides of the bearing in contact with the spindle. The idea behind this innovation is based in simple stability formula. The design of the platter and bearing in the Voyager is such that any 'side force' or 'rock' on the platter does not cause the platter to 'topple' against the side walls of the bearing house with the resultant high increase in friction. Even inverted bearings do not usually address this problem.
- The drive system eliminates belts which always have a slight element of stretch - instead the platter is driven directly by a low vibration DC motor via a pulley loaded directly onto the side of the platter.

Heavyweight Platter
This option is a special combination of materials, designed to increase mass without incurring the penalty of increased energy storage and slow resonant decay. These are well known problems identified in most high mass platters. However the heavyweight platter uses a unique combination of laminated materials and sandwich construction to dissipate energy quickly and effectively. To produce such a platter is not easy. It is effectively like manufacturing 5 platters which must be free from accumalated distortion. Benefits are immediately obvious in deeper more powerfull bass, increased dynamics throughout the frequency spectrum and a greater sense of solidity / realism.
